What is KRAFTWERK?

[brief intro]

"In the beginning KRAFTWERK created the Musik and the Vibe and the ambience was without form and void and silence was upon the face of the Aether. And the Voice of Energy moved upon the face of the airwaves and KRAFTWERK said: Let there be sound; and there was sound. And KRAFTWERK heard the sound, that it was good. And KRAFTWERK divided the sound from the silence." AMEN!

Man-Machine "Dummies", Ca. '78 ROBOTS, Ca. '91

So, who ARE these Mekanikal Musikmeisters? [on Man-Machine cover, (L-R): Karl Bartos, Ralf Hütter, Florian Schneider, Wolgang Flür]. They are not well-known because they shun publicity, but, they sparked the whole TECHNO/SYNTHPOP style almost 30 years ago. Their MusiK is a unique blend of Early Experimental, Rock, Classical and Folk, etc, with fantastic hypnotic rhythms, harmonics, and melodies, not to mention VERY KooL high-tech imagery. They even built computerized ROBOT Doppelgängern to perform in Konzert! Many subsequent modern New Wave artists copied KW's shart hair and skinny tie style as well as sampling their pure elektronik sounds and rhythms. Ralf Hütter & Florian Schneider & Company are sheer Geniuses! They met in '68 and they've been making beautiful Musik together ever since! "....We.Are.The.ROBOTS...."
